Madhuri wanted to play Rajinikanth's ladylove

South Indian actor Rajinikanth’s upcoming venture ‘Rana’ is creating quite a stir due to the selection of the movie's female lead.

Reports claimed that there are three female leads in this trilingual film, in which Rajinikanth plays a triple role.

And Bollywood’s veteran and beautiful actress, Rekha is going to play the South Indian superstar's love interest in the movie, a role which tabloids reported was refused by the ‘Dhak-Dhak’ diva of B-town, Madhuri Dixit.

This is the third film of Rajinikanth with Rekha as the two were paired opposite each other in ‘Bulandi’ and ‘Phool Bane Aangaray'.

The film, which releases in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, features Deepika Padukone as one of the three leading ladies in this movie.

Grapevine has it that the 'Patiala House' actress Anushka Sharma is being considered for the third female lead.

Madhuri clarifies why she refused the movie
Rumors claimed that the actress Madhuri Dixit refused to romance Rajinikanth in the movie and so, she rejected her role.

But Madhuri shuns this as 'absurd' and said that she refused the movie as she was not asked to play Rajinikanth's lady love.

Confirming that she was not doing the movie, Madhuri clarified through her Twitter account, "Would have loved to do a film with Rajinikanth but the role was that of his sister...need to wait for the right role."

Madhuri, previously, worked opposite the superstar in 1987’s hit film ‘Uttar Dakshin’.

Sonu Sood plays lead role in ‘Rana’
After being appreciated for the role of Cheddi Singh in 2010’s best film ‘Dabangg’, every filmmaker wants to work with actor Sonu Sood and this is the reason why he has been offered a lead role in 'Rana'.

Yes folks, Sonu Sood has got the once in a lifetime opportunity to work with the South Indian superstar.

“After Rajinikanth saw Sonu as Cheddi Singh in Dabangg and Pashupati in the Tamil hit, Arundhati and was very impressed with his negative roles. So, he soon cast him in the much-coveted negative role for his trilingual film Rana,” confirmed a source.

'Rana' is said to be the most expensive Hindi movie ever made till date and is expected to release this March.

We hope that our Bollywood stars are able to match footsteps with the iconic actor of the South.
