Xtreamer Announces Prodigy Media Player

Xtreamer's media players have received much praise from us in the past, and there's a good reason why they enjoy popularity in the enthusiast circles. Its product may not be available officially in India, but that hasn't stopped the audio/videophiles and enthusiasts from getting one from the grey markets and forum group orders. After launching an Apple compatible version of their popular Xtreamer media player, it has been followed up with the announcement of the nifty Xtreamer Prodigy.

The upcoming Prodigy maintains quality with the Realtek 1185 engine at its heart, and it has a slew of features and connectivity options up its sleeve. In addition to the usual connectivity options of internal/external HDD docking, HDMI, Wi-Fi, RJ45 LAN, component, composite, and SPDIF, the Xtreamer Prodigy also packs in compatibility with USB 3.0 on a system with 256MB onboard RAM and 512MB NAND flash storage for a smooth GUI experience. This brings us to the best part of the Prodigy - the Adobe Flash GUI, which brings a rich and seamless user interface experience that includes a web browser.

The player also incorporates support for services like Apple AirPlay, Mediafly, Google Talk, Last FM, Pandora, Facebook, among other things. It also features a multi-card reader, a 3.5-inch HDD bay and an integrated IR remote control. The release details Xtreamer Prodigy should be out in the next week, but we know that it will retail for Euro 119 (Rs. 7,449 approx.) on release. You can pick it up from renowned hardware havens like Lamington Road (Mumbai) and Nehru Place (Delhi) for a wee bit more than the dollar price.
